Cautious Thinkers place priority on Accuracy, Challenge, and Stability.  These attributes show up in slightly different ways when combined with other behavioral styles Directors (D), Influencers (I), and Steady Relaters (S).

So, how are the three Influencers styles alike and different?

  • The Pure C Style – Accuracy, Stability and Challenge

C’s are very analytic, and value accuracy above all.  They tend to be formal and appear detached.  While they also prioritize challenge, they look for productive methods for task completion.

When coaching a pure “C” Style, encourage them to avoid over analyzing and acknowledge the feelings of others.

  • The C over I Style – Stability, Accuracy & Enthusiasm

They analize next steps before making decisions.  They enjoy the spot light of recognition when awarded for specific accomplishments.

  • The C over S Style – Stability, Accuracy & Support

They avoid risks and tend to be overly prepared.  They are data collectors and overwhelm people with questions.

  • The C over D Style – Challenge, Accuracy & Results

They are logical, rational and unemotional.   Their goal is to deliver quality results in the most efficient way possible.

Overall, other styles tend to perceive the “C” style to be analytical.  When stressed they become rigid and withdraw from others as they need alone time to maintain their energy.
